After nearly 20 years in domestic banking and mutual funds, I reinvented my career in the field of international development. I am a conflict management specialist and certified mediator. My story is somewhat unique in that after years of building and leading dynamic teams in small and large companies, I risked everything to follow my passion for international affairs, leaving that safe and secure banking career behind to forge a new path. Best thing I ever did!
I have spent time researching issues of human rights, economic sustainability, and genocide and mass atrocities in Peru and Cambodia. Research should never be a purely extractive phenomenon, so I have also volunteered in those countries, teaching basic English and working on clean water acquisition projects.
Today, I work for the federal government in international development and humanitarian assistance capacities. My lengthy private sector background has been a valuable asset to my work because I fully understand and appreciate the need for transparency, accountability, risk management and client service to taxpayers.
